A hootenanny is an old Appalachian expression used to describe a gathering of good folks often accompanied by music, dancing, stories, and laughter. We’ve assembled a lineup of the best comedians and musicians around Denver. The only thing missing, is you! Gather with us for a night of fun at Arvada Tavern that is sure to be a hoot.

Kyle Pogue is a stand-up comedian from Colorado (pronounced Col-o-ray-do). In a mad and frightening world, Kyle Pogue embraces debauchery as a way of life and believes that laughing in the face of everything that scares us is the only way to survive.

Kyle is a regular performer at the Denver Comedy Works and was a finalist in the Comedy Works New Faces & Funny Final Four Competition, as well as The Best of Fort Collins Competition. He has appeared on the High Plains Comedy Festival 2017 & 2018, the Altercation Festival 2017 & 2018, the Longmont Laugh Fest 2017 & 2018 and the Red River Comedy Festival.

Luke Gaston is a Colorado comic using the hell out of his art degree. Luke was a featured performer in the 2018 Toronto Cannabis Comedy Festival and a semi-finalist in the 2018 Comedy Works New Faces Competition. Luke hosts and produces a comedy showcase featuring nationally touring comedians at Scrumpy’s Hard Cider Bar every last Friday in Fort Collins. Luke lives in Fort Collins, CO, with his girlfriend, dog, and 2006 Subaru Impreza.

Katie Bowman is a local artist, stand-up and improv comedian based out of Denver. Bowman’s voice is best described as confessional and goofy. She strives to connect with the audience with bits about her life as a social underdog using voices and act outs. She hosts selected New Talent Night shows at Comedy Works in Denver. Bowman has performed at the 50 first Jokes Denver edition of 2018, I Don’t Think So Honey podcast recording at Comedy Works, Beast Village Comedy Festival, The High Plains Comedy Festival, The Longmont Laugh Fest, Southwest Chief Bicycle and Comedy Festival, Alaska B4UDIE Fest, The Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains All Agency Conference of 2018. She has opened for many greats like Derek Sheen, Ron Lynch, Judah Friedlander, The Grawlix, Sam Tallent, Baron Vaughn, Maggie Maye and Todd Barry.

Kallan Reece has advanced in the Comedy Works New Faces contest two years in a row, won best comic of the night at Thick Skin 5 times, and will be performing in the prestigious 2020 SLO Comedy Festival. He has a degenerate style of comedy for all ages and loves long walks in alleys.
